The Under Secretary of State for the
Colonies presents his compliments to the Secretary,
Board of Trade, and is directed to enquire whether
the statements of arms and ammunition which passed
through Hong Kong in transit to China during the
first half of the year 1939, can now be returned to
the Colonial Office.
2. In this connection a copy of a letter which
was sent to the Foreign Office on the 31st August, 1939
is enclosed.
